-- Act 6 --
Viki
was walking back towards the school halls, her search through the basement
having been fruitless. The bell that indicated the end of the school day had
already rung and all the students left their classrooms excited to go home or
some other place that was more exciting for them or even, with the older ones,
to fulfill other responsibilities. The corridors were full. However, it was
easy for Viki to spot Samuel's friends, Carl and Julius, the three of them had
met at a soccer game on the field in his neighborhood.
“Hey, brats. Haven't you seen your jerk that you have for a friend?” Viki asked, she actually worried a little, but she knew the attitude of these children, it was better to keep up appearances. The children looked at her for a second. "If you mean Sam, no, since the break we haven't seen him" replied the little blond boy. "Surely he left the pint and didn't even tell us” Replied the black boy. "Most likely, he must have been having fun while we were foolishly solving math exercises," Carl commented. "I'm so envious, next time I'll go with him" added Lucius before walking away with his blond friend.
Viki stood there watching the duo walk away. "Hey Viki." Her friend came up behind her making her jump. "Aris, you scare me." she complained. “Hey can you help me with my ball. It fell in the lawn of that curmudgeon lady again." Her friend asked her with a grimace, begging. "OK." Viki agreed. "Thank you. You're the best. By the way. You were very focused. What were you thinking?” she asked her. "(Sam is nowhere to be found... that's weird)" she thought to herself. But decided to keep the incident a secret. "Nothing. I was thinking about the immortality of the crab."
TWO HOURS BEFORE.
A woman was driving a minivan, she had traveled a good stretch of the highway until she got into a secondary road that led her towards a citadel, there were few people walking on the street. The woman drove until she reached a group of houses, these were a little further from the rest. She stopped right at a white house. She got out to open the garage door and put her vehicle in, once this was done, she closed the door. The woman went through her house and began to close the curtains, they were dark and a bit thick, so it would be difficult for some curious person to peek inside the house.
Once she verified that she had complete privacy, she returned to the garage, opened the sliding door of her vehicle, there were several black bags containing the loot from her most recent theft. Right in the middle of them was something covered by a blanket. She moved a couple of bags leaving a free space towards said blanket and discovered it. Lying on the floor and struggling was a small ballerina, completely bound in socks. A piece of duct tape sealed her lips. "I hope you enjoyed the ride," the woman said teasingly as she picked up the little girl and pulled her out of the vehicle.
She put her on her shoulder and carried her from the garage to the living room of the house, the girl kicked as much as she could on that journey. "Enough, you only make it more difficult." There she left her lying on her while she went back to the garage to look for something. The little girl struggled against her restraints in a panic, but they didn't give way, despite being just socks, they were tied firmly. She also tried to scream for help, but the tape was closing firmly her lips. Her fear had already taken over her, so many things had happened in the same day that it must surely be the worst day she would ever have in her life. Defeated, she lay there and made an effort to remember.
At first, she was actually a boy, but he ended up dressed like that because of a ridiculous bet that he himself provoked, then he had seen a strange woman stealing things from the school and ended up being used as a suitcase carrier by that thief, to his luck, a teacher thought the situation was strange and had gone to investigate. There, he quickly came up with a plan, Samuel decided to act like the little girl he was disguised as. He feigned a nice attitude to get rid of the woman, he called her Cinthia, because that was the name she had written on her jacket. She even gave him a fake name at the time, Sandy. The thief didn't want to get caught so she had humored her.
The next thing he remembers, he had managed to get rid of her and get back inside the school, he went back to the locker room to look for anything masculine he could wear, but was interrupted when someone grabbed him from behind and covered his nose and mouth with a cloth, a handkerchief, it was soaked in something with a strange smell, then, everything went black. The next thing he remembers was waking up and seeing everything dark. He had tried to stand up or speak, but he was bound and gagged. Some kind of blanket covered his vision so he had to put his trust in his hears.
The sound of the revving engine of the vehicle he was in, the buzz of vehicles passing him, followed by the familiar sensation of being in something moving very fast. There was no mistaking it, he was in the minivan, going down the highway. All the way Samuel struggled and struggled against his restraints, as well as making noise in the hope that someone would hear him. But it was all in vain, now he was in Cinthia's guard, completely at his mercy. Said woman returned carrying something in her hand, Samuel could not distinguish what she had, no matter how hard he tried to see it.
Cinthia untied the knot from Samuel's wrists and untied him, the boy quickly tried to use her hands, but the woman turned him onto her back and passed her arms in front of her where she placed some wives. Samuel felt the cold metal press against his wrists, he tried to struggle, but stopped when the metal pieces began to hurt him. "Well,” she sired “I hope you had fun with your trick, because it won't happen again." Said the woman, a bit annoyed. “But now, for your sake, you will listen to me. you understand me?" I ask threateningly.
Samuel, in a panic, nodded his head. The woman had already kidnapped him, she didn't know what else she was capable of, but she didn't want to find out. "Well, I hope this makes things easier," said the woman, keeping her menacing face. Samuel couldn't help but regret at home one of his actions that had led him to the problem he was currently in. The only thing he wanted was to get out of there, the idea of someone seeing him dressed as a girl was scary, but public humiliation start sounding better than anything this woman could do to him.
-- Act 7 --
Samuel froze on the sofa. "This is what will happen," said the woman. "I'll untie you, but don't try anything silly, I'll leave you the handcuffs to guarantee that." Samuel nodded in fright and she began to loosen the knots on the socks and remove the ties from her. "I won't put handcuffs on your legs because I need you to walk, but if you do something stupid, I won't hesitate to put them on you" the woman threatened with a stern look. "Okay... don't worry... if you listen to her... she'll let you go..." he thought to himself with fear. The woman finally untied him completely, she took him by the shoulders and sat him down.
The only restraints she had left were the handcuffs and the tape that covered his mouth. The chain of the handcuffs was a bit long, so he could move his arms with some freedom. "Okay, listen to me." The woman indicated. "Let's get all the bags out of the van." Samuel nodded and followed the woman to the garage. Cinthia took out a bag and gave it to him to carry, because he had the handcuffs it was a bit difficult for him, a second bag was loaded, the little one had to improve his grip so that they would not fall off. "Okay, go ahead, move" ordered Cinthia.
They both got out of the garage. "Go to the stairs and go up" she indicated and he obeyed. Once upstairs, there was a straight hallway with 3 doors. Cinthia told him to keep walking and stop at the last one on the left. There the woman opened the door and they both entered. It was a medium-sized room, the windows were covered by thick curtains, there were several shelves with colored plastic drawers.
They had tapes that said their contender, such as; expensive clothes, normal clothes, perfumes, toys, among others. "Okay, we're going to leave them here at the back, then... then we'll see what happens" that last sentence made Samuel start to tremble a little. They left the bags stacked against the wall and returned to continue with the others.
That was how they spent a good time going up and down the stairs of the house, carrying bags with the loot from the school. “This is very exhausting.” Thought the little boy who already felt tired. “How many things of value was she able to find at my school?” he thought, on the one hand, anxious to finish, but on the other, trying to analyze the house to devise a way to escape or something.
She was surprised at how clean and tidy that woman's house was, despite being a thief, she was not messy, after all, she worked as a janitor. Samuel searched his memories and remembered how once he and his friends threw paint bombs at a group of girls practicing a recital. The next day there was not a single paint stain and that was when Cinthia was still working there.
As they came and went, he paid attention to every corner of the house, the doors having additional locks installed. The front door had two extra padlocks, the garage door had additional security locks that secured it to the floor, so they couldn't lift it without the keys. The windows, they looked like the best option, but.
"Will she reinforce them?" the little boy wondered. He had to get away, and fast, but it might be too late, since they were almost done carrying the bags. When Samuel realized that, he felt a chill run up his spine. He even remained thoughtful when the woman took the last bag from the van, a strong push that knocked him to the ground made him come to.
"Move, NOW." He ordered in a low but terrifying voice. Samuel got up and began to walk, he felt a slight despair begin to fill his heart, he walked like a condemned man heading towards his fatal destiny. Once he saw the big pile where they had arranged the bag, he froze. "Is this my end?" he thought incredulously and terrified.
The woman gave him another shove and he hurried to put the bag down with the rest. "Ugh, how tired" the woman sighed. "Okay, now, the next” she said heading towards one of the boxes that had the label. "Boy's clothes, usual." He started looking through it as she turned back to take a look at Samuel.
The little boy looked at her with fear of his kidnapper, hoping that whatever his fate is, it won't be fatal. "Okay, this is the plan..." the woman began to explain, leaving what she was doing and taking his shoulder. "First of all, take a shower, be brief" she led him towards the corridor, the little boy tried to stop, but the woman pulled him strongly.
They entered a bathroom, it was a bit small, with a spotless shower and toilet. "Leave the ballerina outfit in said laundry basket, I'll pass you clothes, even while you can use the towel from there" she explained while pointing where each thing was.
Samuel nodded slowly. "Now, I'll remove the handcuffs and gag, but I think it's clear to you that if you try the least foolish thing, you won't live to talk about it." The woman's words made the little boy shudder again. He nodded again. "Perfect" she said as she took the handcuff’s key out, she had them on a keychain that was connected to her belt by a cord. She uncuffed him and yanked the gag off. "Ouch" the little boy groaned when the tape came off his lips so violently. He rubbed his wrists to de-stress the tension that had built up from spending so much time with said pieces of metal.
The woman headed for the door. "Don't take more than 15 minutes, if not, YOU'LL SEE" she threatened him and she closed the door, a click of a latch indicated that she locked it with the key. Samuel was locked up. Quickly, he tried to look for a window, there was one next to the toilet, but it was very high and with a grate.
For a moment he thought about screaming for help, but the woman's threats came back to haunt him. With no other choice, he sighed and decided that it was best to listen to her at all times. He looked up to find his reflection in a mirror mounted on the wall. He didn't recognize himself, instead he saw a scared little girl in a pretty cute ballet outfit.
