----- Just Friends -----
-- Written by “Irene Naridza”
Chris had a huge crush on Laurent, the goth
girl from the class. She caught his attention from the first day she arrived at
school. Despite her way of dressing and her musical tastes, her attitude was
very sweet, she was kind to everyone. Chris was always watching her from afar,
wishing he had the courage to tell her how he felt about her. It was until that
day that he gathered the necessary guts and proposed to her in the school
corridor, taking advantage of the fact that it was empty. Just the two of them.
Laurent was speechless at that statement. "Sorry, but you're not my type." It was the simple answer that struck Chris's
heart. He felt how his illusions were shattered with a single sentence. "But don't worry, we can be friends, you're a nice
guy, Chris." She comforted
him as she placed her hand on his shoulder.
"no no no." He started to repeat. “Please give me a chance, I really want to be your
boyfriend. If there is any way for me to be your type, tell me, whatever I
should do.” Laurent was shocked
to see how he begged for a chance. It had never happened to her before, she
didn't even imagine that it was possible.
Not knowing what to do. She took the first idea
that came into her head. She knew it could be cruel, but it seemed like an
innocent joke that would help Chris back off. “Come
to my house after school. There I will tell you what you have to do.” That invitation returned all his spirits to
Chris. He jumped for joy and accepted.
Laurent was an only child and lived in an apartment with her parents. She usually had the house alone for a couple of hours before they came back. That was why she felt so safe bringing a boy home, there would be no one to look at the boy with suspicious eyes. She tidied up the place a bit before Chris arrived.
When he arrived, he was surprised that her
house was not decorated in a macabre or gothic style. But he didn't mention it
to her, instead, he went straight to ask her what he had to do in order to be her
boyfriend. Laurent directed him to her room. This one was decked out like a
goth girl room. Metal band posters on the walls, black and purple things and
even an electric guitar.
"OH. YOU PLAY
GUITAR?" He
asked as he turned to look at her. She was standing by her closet, holding a
vintage-style black dress. "Yes. But forget
that. For now, PUT THIS ON.” Laurent said as she walked over to him
to hand over her dress.
Chris was quite confused. “W, WHAT, you want me to do what?” he asked as
he held the dress up and gave it a strange look. “You
said you would do anything. Didn’t you? Good. I want you to wear it. That and
the rest of the outfit I am going to give you. Is that or we can just be
friends.” Laurent returned to her
closet and searched through the drawers for something. “Well… I said it, but…” It was the moment
Laurent had been waiting for. The moment when Chris would hesitate to want her
to be his girlfriend and would end up leaving the idea.
"ALRIGHT. But I will
need help to do it. You know, I'm a boy, I don't know how to put on a
dress." He said while rubbing his head. "(OH, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT)" Laurent's plan was failing, but she decided to
continue with it. "(Maybe I've reached a
point where he considers it's too much for him and gives up)" she thought as she searched for something
feminine enough to force him to wear. What she could find were a pair of black tights
with a design of pink hearts, they were a special gift from her mother for her
past birthday.
“Before the dress. Put this
on." She unwrapped them, revealing the design.
Chris seemed to hesitate for a moment. "Okay,
but I thought I'll need help to do it."
He was determined to do whatever it took. "(IT'S
NOT POSSIBLE)" she thought
incredulously.
She closed her eyes as she helped him into
the pantyhose. She didn't like the idea of seeing a boy in underwear. Once she
lifted them up to his waist, she opened her eyes and helped to smooth the tights.
Then was a black bra with a makeshift sock padding. Chris only hesitated for a
second before accepting. Laurent had to put it on him because he couldn't move
his arms back enough to fasten the clasps.
Laurent remembered when she was younger and she
played to dress her doll Dolores with the best outfits that her young mind
could think of. Only now it was very different. She felt weird dressing up a
boy as a girl, but she hoped it would make him give up. She helped him to slip
into the dress and zip it up the back. She also gave him some black lace-up girly
boots. What followed was a pair of rings, a bracelet, a choker, a wig, a rather
girly hairstyle, and lastly, light makeup.
Laurent found Chris's persistence incredible.
No matter what, he was willing to do anything. “WOW,
I LOOK LIKE A GIRL.” He said amazed looking at himself in the mirror
when Laurent finished doing his makeup. "Exact.
You look like one.” She was also
amazed at her own result. Anyone who saw him at that time would say that he was
a cute girl and not a boy.
"Well. Can I be your
boyfriend now?” he
asked excitedly. “Chris. I already told you.
You're not my type." She repeated to him. “I did this hoping you'd give up, but apparently you
really want me to be your girlfriend, but please understand. I don't feel that
way for you. I can see you only as a friend." She explained to
him as she sighed in frustration.
Chris couldn't help but lower his gaze,
disappointed. "Well. It's fine… I think
I'll leave then.” Chris was about
to start removing the wig when the sound of the front door opening followed by
the sound of several people walking in caught their attention. "Hi
little one. Are you at home?" Laurent recognized the voice
immediately. "Is my dad. HOW COULD I FORGET
IT?” She clutched her head when she remembered it.
That day her father's favorite football team
was playing. He and his friends were planning to meet him there after work. The
match would last around two hours, but they would stay longer. Either to
celebrate the victory or to mourn the defeat, both cases with beer.
Laurent hurried to lock her door, but didn't
make it in time. It opened, revealing her father in the hallway. "Hi
little girl. You are here." The man was glad to see
his daughter at home. He could also see a girl next to her, with clothes very
similar to her daughter's. "Who is she? A new friend?" he asked
as he pointed at her. Chris was petrified and speechless.
“She is Christina. A new
friend I made at school recently. We have a lot in common, even our clothes.” She invented a story in record time to
justify the situation. "That's why I
invited her today. To have a good time together, talking about things we
like... and girly things. You know, dad. That's why only girls can be here.
Also, that's why I need you not to enter my room without knocking, that's
scary." She gave her father a little push out of the room, but
she couldn't move the grown man.
"Oh, sure. Sorry. I just want make sure you
reach home safe. Well, I'll leave you girls, keep talking about girl’s stuff.
I'll be in the living room with the boys in case you need anything." He
left the room. “Nice to meet you, Christina.” He
made a hand signal, which was returned timidly by Chris. Laurent was able to
close the door as soon as he left, this time making sure the lock was on.
"This is bad. My dad
forbade me to bring boys into the house.” She began to speak quietly. “If suddenly he sees a boy come out of my room. I'M DEAD.
YOU'RE DEAD. WE ARE DEAD." She
explained while coming face to face with Chris who was scared by such
information. "Well. So. what should we
do?" Chris also had no ideas in such a situation.
“How about you go out like
this? You can return the clothes to me later” she suggested. "No
way. I CAN'T GO HOME LOOKING LIKE THIS. MY PARENTS WOULD KILL ME.” Chris refused. “Also,
I live in a little bit dangerous neighborhood. You did a good work making me
look like a girl, those crooks won't notice that I'm not one and they could
grope me or worse. There's no way I can go out like this." Laurent shuddered on hearing such a scene.
"Well, in that
case..." She
was pacing the room in circles looking for some idea. "I got it. After the match. They'll have a couple of
beers. They always do when they watch the games here. Anyway, they’ll end up
going to a bar not far from here. It will be the perfect moment for you to
leave without being seen.” She
explained the plan to her classmate.
"Sounds great." He said amazed at Laurent's ability to come
up with a plan so quickly. "But... what do
we do until it in the meantime?" Laurent's
mind went blank. "Well... I have no
idea." She confessed. “Oh no… well. We could play a board game or
something." Proposed Chris. Laurent
thought about it for a moment. "OK. It's
not like we have anything else to do. Do you know how to play checkers?”
She walked over to her closet where she took out a board and tiles. "Yeah. I used to play it since I was little."
Laurent hastened to put a hand over Chris's
mouth. "MMPH" his words
were muffled. Laurent looked nervously at her door for a few seconds before
turning her gaze to Chris. "Lower your
voice. They can hear you." She
told him between whispers. "And you'd
better refer to yourself as girl, to avoid they realize it." Chris nodded.
Laurent removed her hand from his mouth and
approached the furniture in front of her bed where she took out a small can,
from which she took out a yellow candy. “Here,
it's a honey candy, it'll help your voice get higher. That way you will sound
like a real girl.” She whispered to him as she handed him the candy.
Chris complied and swallowed it. "Aggh, I must have messed it with water, how
silly..." he put his hands
to his mouth. “That… was that me?” He wondered in amazement at the new timbre of his
voice. "Exact. Christina, now, let's
play." She took the still
stunned feminized boy by the hand and invited him to sit on the bed.
Laurent made him take off the booties before
climbing into bed and even showed him how to smooth the skirt of the dress
before sitting down. "It's to keep it from
wrinkling." Sitting there he
felt a little weird from the feel of the dress, the tights, the bra and the
makeup. But he couldn't deny that he was a little bit comfortable. The dress
wasn't tight on him and his legs felt warm, only the bra was a little tight
across his chest.
Laurent placed all the tiles on the board
before both of them. Then Chris realized what was happening. He may be disguised
as a girl, but after all, he was alone with the girl he liked, in her room,
playing Chinese checkers. It was the closest thing to a date and it was the
closest he could get. That made him happy.
"Well. You have the
white ones. Begin." Laurent indicated. "Oh yeah. There I go." They kept
playing for a long time. It seems that it is not a fun game, but they were very
entertaining. There were several games, one after another. Some were won by
Laurent and others by Christina. They soon found themselves laughing and
talking about things about school. Cristian found it difficult to keep
mentioning herself as a girl to avoid trouble, but in the end, she ended up
dominating it.
They did spend the afternoon until finally
there were no moors on the coast. Christina took advantage of the moment to
change back into Chris and return home. "Hey,
that was fun." Laurent said
as she walked Chris out. “You know, we may just
be friends for now, but maybe and just maybe. We can be something more." Chris felt his heart bounce with joy. “But you have to go slowly, Christina. Because, for now,
I like that we're just friends." she added. "Oops, sorry. I meant, Chris." She
corrected herself.
"No, No, you
know. I think I liked the feel of the dress and the tights” He confessed a little embarrassed. “Maybe, and to keep your parents from getting suspicious.
Christina could come back and have a good time with you…maybe, just until we're
dating.” The proposal took
Laurent by surprise. She stared at Chris for a few seconds, she never thought
that a boy could like things like that. "Alright. So, I'll wait for you next Thursday, Christina.” They shook hands sealing the agreement.
THE
END.
